I have been trying to install Windows XP for several days.
It works for the most part, but:
I do not have any help files
I do not have any file find capability
I do not have a coplete Internet explorer. I had to use
Netscape to get to this page.
I can not repair/reinstall XP because there is a part of an
old program GoBack, wihch I can not find without find
capabilities.
I also can't get to Micrsoft support because I don't have
help to locate my product number.

Can anyone help me?

Owen,
This was an upgrade from windows 98SE, all my original
data files are still there. It's the Windows XP thats not
all there. I may have to do a clean install, but I'm not
sure that I can back everything up. I have not had very
good luck with retrieving backed up files.

Neo,
The product number is inside the computer, accessable from
the help file. I don't have the help files. I tried the
number on the package. It has too many digits.

when you install, are you deleting old partitions and
creating a new one to
install to? (warning this DOES erase all exiting stuff on
your drive). if
you do this, you shouldn't have any old files or programs
and it should
work.

the Product number or serial number is on a stick of the
box of the WInXP CD, if it came w/ your computer, the
sticker must be outside of the CPU's case, or on some kidn
of box, book that came w/ the package. That's all i can
advice. And by the way, y dont u reinstall XP
