inbox shows unread messages but i can't find them

outlook 2003 sttandard. My outlook inbox shows unread messages but there
aren't any. Finally I select mark all as read but within a few days the same
thing happens again. Any idea??

2nd idea: Create a new PST file, move the items from one PST to the other.

Change the default delivery folder to the new PST file and work with the new
PST file (Specify where new messages are delivered):
