Importing OE6 messages into Windows Mail

Having problems with Windows Mail message import.

I have copied all the Outlook Express 6 dbx files (actuall the entire
folder) from the old PC (Windows 2000) onto a portable harddrive & then onto
new PC running MS Vista.
I copied the file folder into the User Document area.
I made sure the dbx file attributes are all uncheked.

However, I can not uncheck the Read Only attribute of the file folder
(likewise I cannot uncheck any folders under Documents).

Also, when trying to import via the MS Windows Mail Import, using OE6, I
select the path to the OE6 file folder, but it incorrectly displays the path
(duplicates the last term) and it will not allow me to adjust the path name.

What do I do?
Does MS have a fix or download to correct this?
Please advise - - - / Thanks

At some point when you are browsing to find the path, there is a box at the
bottom that says "Folder" and it shows the duplicate folder name. You can
erase that, and then when you hit OK and get to the place where the path is
unchangeable, it shouldn't duplicate the folder anymore.
