Outlook v Windows Mail

If by "Outlook", you mean "Outlook Express", then you are correct.
OE has been replaced with Windows Mail.
Outlook is an entirely different program.

Copy all of the OE .dbx files (including folders.dbx) from the XP computer
to a
temporary folder on the Vista computer
Open Windows Mail, File - Import - Messages - Microsoft Outlook Express 6
import from OE6 store directory
find the temporary folder where you copied the .dbx files (BUT DON'T OPEN
IT).
Next.... etc.

If you want to import your contacts, copy the .wab file over, and do a
similar File - Import
of the Windows Contacts.

Do you mean Outlook or Outlook Express. The process of moving them over to
the new computer is a bit different for each.

I understand that Outlook has been replace by Windows Mail. I have a new
computer and it has WM. The old computer had Outlook, I copied folders with
messages onto an external hard drive. How do I get the old messages and
contacts into the new WM on the new computer? Appreciate any help you can
provide. MCD
