Importing from a tripod account

Anna

I recently lost Frontpage (and data content) and needed
to reinstall. I'm having a problem importing my site
from a Tripod account now. Any suggestions?

The way I have done this in the past is make a folder and then open ftp program <not sure Tripod allows ftp> and go to the site and download all the files/folders on the site. Then open FP and open the site. Everything should show except the Navigation part. Hope this helps

If the remote server has the FP extensions, then open the site directly in FP via File Menu | Open
Web and then File Menu | Publish Web back to your local machine.

Anna - Tripod does support FP extensions. One thing to remember after
you follow Mr. Rowe's instructions: You will have to edit EACH page of
the site you download to remove the HTML code that is added by Tripod to
display it's advertisements and other Tripod features. They
automatically modify any web pages loaded to a Tripod account to include
their information.
