importing favorites from 5.5 to 6

I have a new computer, using XP Pro, and IE 6. I am trying
to import Favorites which were exported from W95 IE5.5.
The import wizard goes all the way thru and then fails
with a simple message, "Error during import". A) Is there
any reason for these to be incompatible? B) Is it really
not possible to upgrade 5.5 on W95 to 6 ?

A) They should be compatible but it may depend on how you transported
the export file. If by email, this is a common problem: (though you
don't mention the normal error message)
"Not a valid bookmark file" error
Created by saving an emailed favorites export using File-Save

Open the page in Notepad and remove this first line:

<!-- saved from url=(0022)http://internet.e-mail -->

B) It is not possible.
