File type: AVI
Size: all sizes

When ever I try to import an AVI (from FRAPS), windows movie maker crashes.
I believe it is all updated...where am I going wrong?

FRAPs uses a compressed avi, maybe divx or the like and this isn't
compatible with movie maker.
There are in fact over 800 different avi file types, with avi just being a
container in which the actual file is put, think of saying I'm eating a
chocolate from an assorted box, but not saying if it is the toffee or
strawberry centre.
You can use avicodec to find out what it is, then convert the file to wmv
for use in MM.

OK, i got it all converted to WMV...(nice water mark and all...not the
point). So, when ever I try and "publish a movie" (after I have put a
title, a credit, some music and tied the two videos I have fraps together)
Movie maker freaks out and says that there is another user using the program
(which there isnt). And then it closes. Any ideas what is going on?

AVS Video Converter 5.6
Didnt figuire out the AVI from fraps.
I converted to Microsoft Zune - Best Quality (320x240, 1112kbps)

Oh, the A.1 codec name is PCM for the fraps file, the V.1 is unknown (and I
installed k_1 codec pack standard)

The converted codec is windows media video 9 and audio 9.2
