In the last week, I've been repeatedly blocked from the FANIQ.com website.
Sometimes I can get on but I can't post messages or enter any polls. This
actually started about a week ago AFTER microsoft did some auto add-ons
overnight. I spent almost 4 hours on the phone with these people and was told
they would get back with me, that hasn't happened and I'm still not able to
work the website. The owners of FANIQ have been trying to help but they seem
dumbfounded also. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

A few thoughts:

Turn off NIS as a test.

[IE]

- Within IE properties, clear Temporary Internet Files and click
Settings, set to check for updated documents "Every Time". Click "Clear
History", click the Security tab and check "Always accept cookies.
(These settings can vary according to the version of IE you're running.)

- Run the following command at a command prompt:
ipconfig /flushdns

- Look in the Hosts file for any reference to the site or its ip
address. The file is hidden away in the folder:
C:\WINDOWS\I386 or in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
But since you can sometimes connect, I doubt this is the issue.

- Check Internet Options, Security tab, Restricted Sites icon, click
Sites button.

- Is the Content Advisor turned on? If so, add faniq.com as an approved
site.
