IEEE FireWire Hard Disk

I

Ihab Abedrabbo

Hello,

I have an External Hard Disk that works with USB2 and
FireWire. On my Windows XP, I used to successfully see my
HD drive when I connect the external device into my PC.
Thus USB have no problem, I only have this problem when I
connect it to the FireWire. I can't see my HD!!!

I go to the device manager and see a yellow exclamation
mark for the OXFORD SEMICONDUCTOR LTD. OXFORD IDE DEVICE
IEEE 1394 SBP2 DEVICE, but I can't update the driver
because windows tells me that no new drivers were found.

Other friends of mine are having the same problem, thus I
don't think it is me or my OS that is giving me a problem
rather than a general HW/SW/Driver problem!

I use WIndows XP SP2
Thanks
Ihab

you need to have the drivers from the manufacturer, so make a new folder
thats easy to find, download the Oxford driver from their website, call them
if you have to, then try to re install the driver, choose pick location, and
point to your download directory, it should find the file

firewire is different from usb, when anything is connected in the string
there, it should reset and learn all the devices on the firewire and rebuild
the interface

but the yellow warning suggests something else, thats got to be fixed first
