Donald

If I attempt to start IE6, I get a message stating that a
problem has been encountered and the programme shuts down.
Attempts to re-install have all failed by not getting past
unsigned certificates. Information applied from the
Knowledge Base has proven futile.

I would appreciate any comments or ideas.

Thank you.

Donald,
The first step to resolve your problem:
How to Disable Third-Party Tool Bands and Browser Helper Objects

If this allows IE to start, see:
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines

Don't forget to re-enable the BHO option (if used)
