IE6 constantly closing

B

Brian

IE6 has started 'encountering a problem' and closing down on a very regular
basis.

The error details are
AppName:iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: entapi.dll
ModVer:8.0.0.240 Offset: 0000368a

This has started over the last few days since I tried to resolve a problem
with my wireless connection.

I have looked at many other similar posts and have installed windows
defender, which has not come across any problems. I have reset all the
options in IE6 and I have disabled all add-ins.

I have also tried updating to IE7 which would not work and then I have
removed the update taking it back to IE6, but the problem still exists.

I have checked for windows updates and installed all available.

Thanks

Brian

Hello,

Try running IE6 with add-ons disabled

Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced (tab) > UNCHECK "Enable
third-party browser extensions" > OK

If it works now, one of your add-ons is causing the problem. Start Internet
Explorer as normal, Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons.

Disable all the add-ons. Enable third-party browser extensions in Internet
Options.

Restart your browser and enable the add-ons one by one till the problem
appears and you get the culprit.
