IE6 will not work

I reformatted my HD and loaded XP Pro SP2 again. Then I upgraded IE6 to IE
7 and the browser did not work. SO I uninstalled it and loaded IE6 via the
add/remove programmes applet. The IE6 also does not work. As a desperate
measure I have installed Firefox Ver 2. but I need to get IE6 back working
again.

Anyone have a cure for me.

Tell us what "does not work" means. What happens when you try to open it?

When I try and open it it just sits there and does nothing. No links work
nor does the home page come up. In fact nothing comes up even after 10
minutes of waiting.

First thing to try is to run sfc_ /scannow. Make sure you have your XP install CD handy. If that does nothing then try the link below.
