I hope someone can help.

Internet Explorer 6 will not open. When I click on the shortcut or the .exe
the window flashes once and never opens. Have have reinstalled XP,
uninstalled IE6 and then reinstalled and it still does not work (this is on
a different computer than the on I'm using currently. I didn't have any
problems with that computer for over 2 years untill last week (my daughter
was on it). Outlook, Oulook Express and Netscape work just fine. I have
already ran Ad-aware and others to look for spam/spyware. Have aslo tried
some tips from microsoft help. Still nothing. Please help.

Hi,
It's likely that another program is causing this- possibly legitimate-
possibly malware.

[XP SP2]
From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Disable add-ons to see if one of them is the
culprit.

If not using SP2... Internet Options> Advanced> Uncheck "Enable third-party
browser extensions." If IE opens properly, you need to find the bad
extension, toolbar or program.

BHODemon http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3550.html may help find the
guilty party.

A more thorough search for malware may be in order. See these sites for
