A Windows NT 4 Professional workstation with SP6a and all
MS Windows Updates using IE6 browser causes CPU
utilization to go to 100% when attempting to print an
online report. The printer is a Brother 1440 laser
printer. There are no events in the event logs related to
this problem. The Internet connection is via 45Kbps dial-
up connection.

Any ideas?

i belive this is normal when printing via the lpt printer port but if i'm
wrong no doubt someone will be quick enough to correct me.

It can take up to two hours for a simple report to print
under these conditions, during which time th ecomputer is
unusable.

Someone suggested clearing the temporary internet files. I
suppose we can try that and see if it helps.

Thanks,

Dave
