IE New page lockup/problem

I am not sure if this is related to me using spybot search
and destroy or if it is a problem with IE6. When I first
noticed the problem was going to an msn chat page it first
would not load the chat program. It kept giving me a blank
page. Then I uninstalled all the stuff in Spybot for
blocking activex and other stuff, and rebooted computer,
cleared all temp files, and it finally loaded the chat.

But then when I go to chat options and click it which opens
a new window, the whole second window freezes, beeps when I
try to do anything on it but close it. It will not load the
options.

I found that going to any pages with java pictures that
open in a new page do the same thing. They start to open
then they lock up do not load. I have set all my options in
IE to default. Have written to spybot and they cannot think
of any reason it is doing this that I havent tried. In
Firebird and Opera I do not have problems with opening a
second page, just in IE. I am using win98SE and OE6 I even
tried repair IE and also a complete reinstall and it still
is giving me problems.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

If you have both SUN and MS java make sure only one of them is active.
