IE Media Player

Roger Lycke

Whenever I click on a WAV file on a web site, IE uses Quicktime
plugin instead of the Windows Media Player like it use to. Is there
a way to set the default player? I can't find anything in the Tools,
Internet Options to do this.

Open Windows Media Player and go to Tools>Options>File Types Tab>Be sure
that you have a check by Windows Audio File (wav) and Media Player will now
be your default for wav files. If you wish Media Player to be your default
for all file types then click on Select All, then click on Apply and OK.

Hi Roger :)

Which version of Windows are you using?

Media Player as Default player:

Open the Media Player on the Explorer Bar>
Click Media options (on bottom of mediaplayer)
Click settings
Ask for preferred types.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)

Thanks.
It didn't solve my problem but I did find
out how to correct it. I found a setting on the Quicktime
browser plugin options that I could turn off WAV files.
