IE logo

I used to have the IE logo on my desktop.(Maybe) after McAfee detected an
infected file, I deleted the file and since then I think I lost the logo. EI
works fine however. Is there a way to get this logo back in place? Thx in
advance.

Right click on the desktop, choose Properties | Desktop | Customize
Desktop. Make sure there is a check mark in Internet Explorer in the
Desktop icons section.

If you are using the Quickstart menu you can drag a copy of the Icon from
there with your right mouse button. The right mouse button give you the
choice of moving or copying the shortcut. You want to COPY the
icon/shortcut.

Or:

Find "Internet Explorer" in your start menu. Note its location
Right click on Start button
Click "Explore"
Open folders corresponding to the location of your IE shortcut above
Use your right mouse button to drag the icon to the destop. When prompted
click "Copy" instead of "Move".

Depends.....is this the only IE related icon that has lost it's icon? If
so:

Restore the Internet Desktop Icon association

Thx Kelly for yr time. Yes this was the only IE icon on my desktop. I tried
both site's registry enterings, but the icon doesn't return. Everything
still works OK and I still use a standard IE shortcut which I have put on my
desktop.
