Logo in favorites???

The other day I saved Google in my IE favorites. For a few days the Google
logo stayed in my favorites beside the word Google. After a few days the logo
was replaced with an IE logo. This happens to me all the time. When I save
anything it always starts off with the saved web sites logo, and after a few
days converts over to the IE logo. Why does it always convert over? Is there
any way to make the saved web sites logo stay? All help appreciated.

The downloaded icon file is stored as a temporary file. Which means that
after a while, the favicon will disappear and your shortcut will be
associated again with the standard Internet Explorer icon.

This may help:

Those are called favicons, are kept in the temporary internet files, and
when those get deleted the icon is gone. See this link for how to save
them.
