IE just closing down

I was sitting and surfing with only Internet Explorer up, and suddenly IE
just disappeared, as if it never has been opened! Suddenly I was just sitting
and staring at my desktop instead. This is of course unacceptable behaviour,
and I wonder what could be the reason for this. Thanks in advance.

It could be that the page that you were visiting had something in it which was unacceptable to IE so the closing of
it may have been just what the doctor ordered.

Years ago there used to be a website that had a page that if you visited it, your entire operating system would just
crash and shut down. Needles to say that wasn't a page you wanted to visit too often.

Joachim,
nothing happens by itself. Obviously, something triggered IE to close. That
"something" could be a number of things: a Trojan, adware/spyware, etc. etc
You might want to start with a decent anti-virus like a "avast!" (they are
not all created equal) Run Ad-Aware, Spy Bot, PC Bug Doctor, etc. preferably
in Safe Mode AFTER you have all the updates. You would be amazed at what is
actually on your computer that you have no knowledge of or have given
permission to (excuse the dangling participles) Another browser that is more
stable and secure might also be a good idea.
Good Luck.

It may be due to a video driver issue or hardware issue.
Possible way outs:-
1.try to reduce or,turn off hardware accelaration
[Open Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot>Hardware
accelaration]

2.Update the video driver.Visit the manufacturer's website to download
and install the latest driver.

3.Change the resolution-try to reduce it.

Also, it can be an overheating problem.
Way out:-Check your SMPS,CPU Fan

It may be due to corrupt IE cache.
Way out:Clean up temporary internet files and cookies.

It may be due to malwares.
Way out:-Scan your system with latest virus definitioned
antivirus,spybot,search and destroy,CWShredder,adaware.Run all the
latest versions in safe mode.
