Windows shuting down to prevent damage

For some reason all of a sudden when I was surfing the internet my computer
said shuting down windows to prevent damage. After it restarted I tried last
know configuration like it said, and my computer will act like its loading
and the screen goes black and will just sit there. The hard drive is going a
the whole time. I let it sit there for about 5 minutes and it dosen't do
anything. I tried starting normally it did the same exact thing. I tried all
the safr modes and I will load the first screen of drivers and then it stops,
but the hard drive keeps going. Can someone please help me???

First question, do you have a current backup of important data? If not
backup data first. Install the drive as a slave drive in another XP or
Win2k computer and backup the important data.

After data is backed up, boot the computer from the XP installation CD
and enter the recovery console. To do so take the first R for recovery.
Once in the recovery console at the command line run a chkdsk on the
system:

chkdsk /p

After that completes try to boot into Windows. If it still can't boot
into normal or safe mode then do a repair install:
