IE Install problems

I'm trying to reinstall XP after a spyware hijacking of
the search function. Each time I try to download the
latest version from the IE download website, I get an
error message that a newer version is already on the PC.
IE has been uninstalled and I can not access it. How do
I "force" a download of the current version of IE? Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up trying all 4
Methods, still had the problem, and ended up reinstalling
XP to get back to a working copy of IE. 14 Critical
Updates later and I'm back to "normal". WHEW!

You're welcome for the suggestion.

Yep, I know all about having to do all the updates again.....had to reformat
and reinstall XP this past weekend :-)

Regards,
