IE Favorites vs Windows/Favorites Directory

Can someone answer this one for me?

How come the c:/windows/favorites directory does not
contain all the favorites that show up in IE???

Is this file also located someone where else?...I backed
up per all instructions I've found (export from IE) and
when I checked the backup, favorites were missing, which
led me to compare the windows/favorites directory to the
actual listing in IE...they're different...

Any help would be appreciated...

You may be using a different Favorites folder. It is not necessarily
Windows\Favorites.
Rightclick a favories, select Properties and the General tab should
show the folder location.
