Internet Explorer is removable?

I thought that it was necessary for all Windows programs.

You can remove access to IE but you can't uninstall it.

Dagnabbit! I was hoping. Then it wouldn't be MicroSoft.

I presume the true is also true for Vista.

Thanks.

It has been several years that Microsoft's "wisdom" is to make IE the
central "control" of their Windows.

Clarify, please.

Without IE (uninstalled), Windows doesn't work, correct?

Sorry, I'm working on Friday here. ;-) Don't confuse me.

The easy solution is to install Firefox (or Safari, Chrome, whatever)
and set it as your default browser.

No need to remove IE, just don't use it.

I've been using Firefox for several years. Occasionally Firefox had
problems with some pages that would work in IE, but I haven't run into
that problem lately.

You can not "fully" remove IE. You can only remove the IE "icons."
IE is too integrated in most Windows versions.

Firefox 3 has problems with secured web sites.

Chrome is beta and uses a lot of RAM.

Safari is Apple's attempt to bring their applications to Windows. Not
many add-ons yet.
