IE causes 100% CPU usage on one web page

Add me to the list of people that have had problems with IE causing CPU usage
to go to 100%. This problem only occurs on one website that I visit. It was
working fine on that web site until last week. I've tried the following:

1. Used system restore to go back to a restore point where IE was working
2. Run two full system virus scans
3. Ran Adaware
4. Ran Spybot S&D
5. Turned off all add-ons in Internet Explorer
6. Checked the hosts file
7. Uninstalled and re-installed Norton Internet Security 2005
8. Uninstalled Zone Alarm and installed the newest version
9. Reset Winsock catalog
10. Installed and ran a registry cleaner
11. Checked third-party browser extentsions setting (off)
12. Searched for occurences of iexplore.exe
13. Searched for netda.exe, netdb.exe, and netdc.exe (none)
14. Checked auto-detect settings (off)

I'm running IE 6.0 with IE SP2 installed. Rather than spend the whole
weekend wrestling with re-installing and re-downloading updates I installed
Firefox. It has no problem navigating the page that is giving IE so much
trouble.

Any ideas why IE suddenly can't navigate one web page and how I can fix it?

Looks like you've gone through quite a lot to correct the problem. Do you
have a URL to share so others can check it out - in case it's a problem with
the site itself, or something else?

I tried something I read on another thread, "go to internet options/advance/
and then under http 1.1, if its ticked, take it off". So far, that is working.

Well, I couldn't get my CPU to go to 100% in the iexplore.exe process on
that page, but I did get it to go to 50% and stay there when first visiting.
That page does have 3 animated .gifs and a Flash ad - both which can cause
this issue - but they change, and sometimes there are two Flash ads,
depending on the reloading of the page. When first visiting that site, I
did have some other instances of IE open at sites also running Flash. When
I closed all other instances of IE, save for your site, CPU usage went down
to normal on the iexplore.exe process. (It could have gone higher, but I'm
also running a BOINC project which I didn't disable during this test).
Also, reloading the page keeps ratcheting up the CPU usage - simulating
going through the site's pages w/o registering - until I let it sit there
for a little bit, then things go back to a lower level. There is also many
chunks of JavaScript on that site, and IE shows there's at least one error
(from IE's scripting engines at least).

Example - the animated .gif at the bottom of this page can make CPU usage
jump:

And see the "Flash CPU Usage Guidelines" at the bottom of this page for CPU
usage issues with Flash:
