100% CPU usage when surfing the web

I have recently had trouble using IE 6Sp1 when surfing the
web. This only recently happened after installing the
latest patch for IE. The issue is very poor performance
and 100% CPU utilization. Virus scan was performed and
none detected. I don't know what is causing this to
happen. Anyone got an idea. Your help is appreciated.
