Hi,I have XP Sp2 Pro and no problem til, I download XP Sp3 Pro RC1 from MS
and after installing it, I started getting this error " IE caused a problem
and is going to close." This go for MS/Hotmail site and lot more. The app
that causing the error is XP Pro Sp3 RC1 (Urlmon.dll) 6.00.2900.3244
(xpsp.071030-1535. Now i can replace it with previous XP Pro Sp2
6.00.2900.3199 (xpsp_sp2_qfe.070821-1250) and it's back to norm with no
problem. So i unstalled Sp3 RC1 and i'm back to my previous OS and no
problems.Til i download some patches from MS today and now i'm getting the
same IE error and (urlmon.dll) also was changed with this one 6.00.2900.3231
(xpsp_sp2_qfe.071010-1316) in the update. Any thoughts on this is Welcome.

I'm having a similar problem with IE6 after a recent update, especially with
hotmail. As for previous poster, any thoughts welcome. Use hotmail as a major
communication route and seems odd that an incompatibility arises with
ANOTHER MICROSOFT PRODUCT!

I'm not anything, just a user. Just checked and my IE6 is version sp2
(according to help). I've no intention of going anywhere near the registry.
Hotmail appears stable once I've logged in, but sometimes it takes 4 tries to
do so (IE6 closing down each time).

Hi Embalmed, it fix my problem: My post is "IE caused a problem and

now i'm going to reinstall XP Pro Sp3 RC1 6.00.2900.3244 (xpsp.071030-1535.
Thank You

Unless you're also "jcr46385" (the poster to whom I was replying), please
begin a new thread about /your/ problems.

If you are "jcr46385", WYSIWYG. Good luck.

Turn off your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs and uninstall KB942615.
Then reinstall it and then turn them back on.

Folks:

I'm having the same problem. I read the article and just did the regedit
thing. That worked for a few times but it is doing it again.

Did you do the hot fix also??? I didn't try that.

If I install the hot fix, should I first undo the regedit and then redo that
AFTER doing the hot fix?
