IE can't display webpage

I have not been able to access the internet for the past few days. I talked
to the tech support of my DSL provider but they were unable to help me with
the problem. When I open Internet Explorer the window says "Internet Explorer
cannot display the webpage". At the bottom of the window it says
"res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#". Is this some kind of error message? Does
anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it?
Thanks.

Hi Monica,

It sounds like your DSL modem has been reset and it did not retain your
logon details for your ISP account. Check your modem settings (you should
see flashing lights on the front of the modem when it is making an internet
connection and your connection icon in the system tray will show you the
bytes sent and received).

Usually you can access the control panel of your adsl modem by entering in
http://192.168.0.1 (but this varies depending upon the brand of your modem).
You may need the help of your ISP to access your modem's control panel and
re-enter your connection credentials.

Hi Monica,
I had the same problem last weekend. I talked to 5 help techs at SBC/
ATT Yahoo. No help from them. I have a Siemens Speedstream 4100
modem & the techs had me all the way into DOS command line processes
to switch the ip address from dynamic to static (hard coded). I was
about to lose my mind, because they ran me through the same processes
ALL 5 times. I asked EVERY time if I should re-install the original
disc from SBC/ATT. Each time, I was made to feel stupid & they told
me NO..do not reinstall the disc files. I hold a BS in Info Systems
from the University of Texas & since I am crazy anyway I just
reinstalled the original files to my pc/modem from the self-
installation disc I used when I set up my Internet account with SBC/
ATT. GEE.....What a shocker, it worked. After digging into the
pointer application files, I discovered that although the ip address
for my modem was being detected, the SERVER ip was missing. Most
other modems such as Motorola types auto detect the server. The
Siemens model I use is a little freaky. Hope reinstall can help you
Monica. Also, don't worry, none of your existing files or software
should be affected by this.
