IE browser momentarily freezes

After every time I type in a new web address or click a link(in other words
every time I load a new page) in internet explorer it freezes the computer
for a few seconds then loads the page, but slower than normal. I opened up
the task manager and under process tab it shows that IE is using 100% CPU
every time I go to a new page. This has just started over the last few days
and I do not know what is causing this. I do know that its not my connection
though.

Hi Dan :)

You don't mention the version of Windows or IE you are using (SP1 or SP2),
but, you might try the following and see if it helps:

Clearing the TIF Cache -
Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

THe pages may involve JavaScript. Try these two commands:
Start> Run>type the following in the text box
regsvr32 vbscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]

You might want to refresh your scripting engine:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/nhp/default.asp?contentid=28001169
or
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

Hope this helps :)

First eliminate any spyware.

CAUTION!!!!! Removing some spyware can damage the Winsock stact. Before
you try to remove spyware using any of these programs , download a copy of

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Thanks for the helo both of you, unfortunately none of the solutions
mentioned above worked. Though the problem could of ben caused by spyware
and the removal of it. This last week I have had really bad spyware programs
so I had used adaware, spybot, spyware doctor and finally got it to stop with
Microsoft anti-spyware. Also I am using Windows explore 6.0 service pack 2

I'm using Sysinternals Process Explorer and it's unbelievable how many
dll's are running under each process. Hijackthis can't possibly uncover
all this as I'm seeing processes running that weren't even listed in
Hijackthis.

Here's what usually happens when I visit a site I haven't been to before.
The page takes about 30 seconds to load before a message appears that
says it failed to load. Then with that same url in the address box, I
hit the F5 key and it loads in a second.

Why?
