First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/cwshredder.zip
**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Hi,

Looks like quite a few IE 6.0 users are having similar
problems including me - reading the post over the last
couple of days. I think it's a IE problem because I have
Netscape 7.1 on my machine and it's working fine NO delays.
I'm hoping someone from MS can find the problem - before I
make Netscape my default brower.

Stop Suggestion Spyware

Frank,

You're not helping anyone by going through and suggestion
spyware over and over again to every single person who has
a problem with their IE. Lay off the advertising, and
please do some real troubleshooting or don't do anything
at all. By the way, have you tried eliminating any
scumware.

Too bad you're annoyed. Spyware is almost always the cause. People who
don't bother with the instructions to update the programs and use CWShredder
and HijackThis, posting the HijackThis log to the forum listed in the
article, may not be helped. There's nothing I can do about that.
There was an update to Ad-Aware yesterday that has helped some and I believe
a new version of CWShredder was put up for download yesterday.
