IE freeze-up with 6.0.2900.2180

I too have been having IE freeze-up with 6.0.2900.2180 error message, and CPU
usage at 100%. After shutting down IE, and restarting it, it works fine for
a couple windows, then freeze-up again. I've checked for malware and spyware,
and found nothing.

Is this an IE problem, and how do I fix it? All other programs on my PC
work fine. Please help.

Hi 92griffin :)

To repair all system files, go to Start>Run, and type in the window
SFC /SCANNOW (Note the space between the SFC and /)
Then hit enter

or....

The Explorer.exe process may unexpectedly quit when you try to search for a
file in Windows XP or in Windows Server 2003

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I've actually used the advice on your website, along
with TrendMicro's Anti-Spyware ver. 3.0 ( I used their online Internet
Security Suite) and Spybot. All come up clean. But a blank www.winfixer.com
window pops up once in a while. What is happenging here? (I value your
advice and help.)
