I am running WinXP SP2, IE 6. I get the error message about IE is sorry it
can't diplay the page and it needs to shut down. I began to view the info
provided, altho it means nothing to me, perhaps it does to someone else - I
found these 2 Error Signatures ONLY - and this one is about 90% of the time:
AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180
ModName: explorer.exe
ModVer: 6.0.2900.2180
OffSet: 0000b1eb

The second is:
AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180
ModName: yshortcut.dll
ModVer: 2005.11.10.2
OffSet: 000058b0 (I used a zero)

Like I said, these mean nothing to me, but I haven't had a crash that isn't
one of these 2 Error Sigs since I have been keeping track. Help!
Thanks!

Hi,
A problem like this is very often caused by another program, toolbar, BHO
(Browser Helper Object) or other add-on for IE.

In your case "ModName: yshortcut.dll" implicates Yahoo Widgets. Try
uninstalling Widgets from Control Panel> Add or remove programs. If that
resolves the problem, you might try reinstalling Widgets, if you want. The
problem may or may not return.

Post back if this doesn't resolve the problem. There are other
troubleshooting possibilities.

Hope this helps,

Hi Don -
Thanks for the reply - When I look at my Control Panel I don't have a "Yahoo
Widgets" listing, I do have a Yahoo Extrs - would that be the same thing? I
did a file search and I came up with 2 photos in PhotoShop of actual widgets
- LOL. Any more help is greatly appreciated - the crashes are driving me
batty!

It's quite possible that other programs (possibly malware) are involved, but
I would uninstall Yahoo Extras and the Yahoo toolbar (if it's installed)
first. Yahoo may be the only culprit. If you want Yahoo Extras back, you
will probably have to reinstall Yahoo Messenger

If uninstalling Yahoo components doesn't resolve the problem, you should
check for malware.
