If I enter a URL without prefixing with http:// the browser takes from 15 to 45 seconds to respond sometimes longer. Also if I click on My Computer I get the waving flash light. I have run all the suggested programs to clear out spyware and BHOs. When I disable the third party extensions I get a message relating to the use of the touch pad mouse on my laptop. Is there a way to list third party extensions and then disbale the ones that you do not want ? any other suggestions welcome.

Get the latest AdAware and SpyBot and run them again. Keep them up to date.

You can download and use this tool while you are trying to remove the
culprits.
BHOCaptor 0.5
BHOCaptor lets you control the Internet Explorer Browser Helper Objects
(BHOs) that are installed on your system. It makes it easy to see what BHO's
are installed and to de-activate them.
