Can't open hotmail and display certain webpages

Hi
Just recently I've been unable to read my Hotmail , I can log in and get as
far as my inbox but when I try to open any mail a message appears at the
bottom of the screen saying 'object does not support this property or
method'.
I also sometimes get a script error box appearing when I log on.
Also some webpages will not display some content .
I have firefox on my pc as well and when I logon thru' the MSN website I can
access my mail ok and have no problem with other web pages!!
I am running windows 2000 , IE6 servce pack 1.
I know its only a minor inconvenience , but something has obviously been
corrupted and I would like to fix it if I can.
I did have a problem with the google toolbar a couple of weeks ago that
prevented IE from starting up , so i disabled third party browser extensions
to get it working again. I removed the toolbar and re-enabled the option ,
now browser appears to work fine apart from the problems I have mentioned.
Does anyone have any suggestions please ?
