Trying to run ICS (internet connection sharing) when we switched to a DSL
router. Problem is our ics connector uses ip 192.168.0.1 for a fixed ip
address. The router has addresses of 192.168.1.100-109 . The end result is
the ics connector is unable to connect to the other pc's when our ics
connector uses an ip of 192.168.0.1. We hope to have a DSL running in a
couple weeks but was hoping to use the router rather than an access point
until then. Anyone got any ideas? TIA

Can you disable the DHCP on the router. Instead, use the ICS as DHCP to assign IP to other computers.

Can't just run the router wired until then? It seems that it would be so
much easier than trying to demote the router to switch, while using ICS.

You don't need ICS with a router. The router does the internet sharing.

Problem is the rest of the pc's are on a wireless LAN & they are the ones
that need the ics.

Ah, so the current router isn't a wireless router, and you are waiting for
your DSL provider to supply you with a DSL modem/router? I still think I am
missing something, here. Maybe it is just that the wireless LAN is brand
new, there is no wireless router, and you are not willing to spring for a
WAP to connect to the current wired router? I am seriously lost. If you
have a router, you shouldn't need ICS. Period. If you have a wireless LAN,
you must have something akin to a WAP to make it work. Or are you trying to
use the ICS computer as a WAP as a temporary measure?

As a temporary measure until DSL comes in
