The icon's (...and icon text) on my desktop are not
utilizing transparency in Windowx XP. If I turn on a
wallpaper, my text is still framed with the background
color.
I have tried a recommneded fix of disabling "Lock Web
Items on Display" by doing the following:
Right-Click Desktop -> Arrange Icons By -> Lock Web Items
on Display
Also, the following support item from Microsoft confirms
the problem (305117 - Background Transparency and Drop
Shadows Do Not Display on Desktop Icons), but tells me
nothing about how to fix it! It tells me NOT to use
Active Desktop to solve the problem... I'm not using
it... and do not know how to disable it. If that's even
possible in XP.
I have also played with the performance settings by Right-
Clicking on My Computer -> System Inforamation ->
Advanced -> Performance Tab to see if that would change
things... The "Drop shadow for icon labels on the
desktop" option does nothing!
This did work on my system, but it stopped working when I
switched themes. I have played with all of the
settings...but no change.
Nothing seems to work... Help please!
