Icon Problems

I am trying to get the original icons to appear back on my search, help, and
run program in my start menu. Also internet explorer icon on my desktop has
changed to some generic form of an icon. How do you go about getting the
icons to change especially in the start menu. Some software changed these
icons and they won't change back.

You can restore your computer state to the time before this problem
appeared.

Start -- Run -- Msconfig
Press 'Launch System Restore' button, and restore your computer to the
earlier date, when this problem didn't exist.

The side effect: all the programs you installed, and all the executable
files you saved (downloaded -- for example) after the time you roll back
to, will be lost -- however all the documents, pictures, movies etc. you
created or saved will remain intact.

Unfortunately I am having a similar problem but for me it seems to only be
with shortcuts on my destop and the folder icon everwhere in my system is
part yellow adn part gray... like 16 color mode. I tried the roleback idea
to before when the problem started this unfortunately did not help at all. I
came here hoping to find some info on this problem. I'm continuing to look.

Thank you for listening,

Thanks, but I have the same problem. It is automatically looking into a
directory that no longer exists. I need to find a way to change this path..

Charlse, I don't know but you may have a bad video driver installed or a bad
video card. This is just a guess.

Thanks, but unfortunately I have tried that also but for some reason my
system restore has restore points but will not restore for some reason.
