after I unchecked the do not check spelling and grammar box in language,
under the tools drop-down menu, I hit OK, but soon after I start entering
text on an email message, the spell-check no longer works. When I go back to
langueage the do not check grammar and spelling box is checked. I uncheck it
and hit ok and go back out to type text and it only works for a short time
and then goes back unchecked text. When I go back to the language setting the
same box is checked again. Any idea why the box does not stay unchecked? I'm
using Outlook in Office 2003. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First--Don't use Word as your email editor. When you just want to check
spelling in an email, press F7. Or go to Tools, Options, Spelling tab and
check Always check spelling. More info in Outlook Help--look up spell checker.

Thanks Mary, I made that adjustment. Word as my email editor was causing the
problem somehow.
