I seem to have lost access to my secure database

Hi

I have been working away on a secure database & it has all been going
well.
However, yesterday something happened to the server I was working on,
and I was unable to gain access to my files until sometime today. Now
I cannot get in to my secured database. Because it is a database I
have secured myself, the engineer who was here sorting the server
problems has more or less washed his hands of it.
When I try to open the file now I get the following message: -

You do not have the necessary permissions to use the 'H:\HC Fuels
\HCFdb1.mdb' object. Have your system administrator or the person who
created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you.

Well, I created the object. I have tried using a shortcut with the
workgroup information file explicitly defined. That made no
difference. Could the problem be with my profile?

The admin who fixed the server may not have set your permissions properly on
the directory your db resides in - especially if they restored from tape at
a time prior to a permissions change. Ask him/her to verify that you have
full control over that folder and file and see if that sorts it out.

And that includes the right to create and delete files; read and edit
files. Try saving a Word file to that directory close and reopen Word and
then open the file again and modify it and save it again. Look at the
properties of the dbf file and make sure it is not read only (It does not
sound like this problem)

It may be that the target of the shortcut you tried is incorrect. It needs
to be
"path to msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure mdw"

What about the workgroup? If you did the security yourself, do you have your
computer user profile sucessfully part of your security workgroup? I am in a
similar situation and right now I am searching for transferring the workgroup
information file from 2003 to 2007. Something to consider maybe?
