Access Security

Hi,

I have created an access database quite some time ago and I was the
administrator until recently. Now I had to pass this onto another person and
I set him up as adminstrator as well and linked his access application to the
security file.

The problem is that this same person was already using excel pivot tables
which were linked to another access database.
Now that his access is linked to my security file he gets permission errors
when trying to use his excel pivot tables. I guess that this is due to the
fact that the security is setup for the whole access application and not just
for a database.

Is there a way around this? Or should the user always disconnect himself
from the security file if he uses another access application?

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your quick reply.
I'm not familiar with the shortcuts you mentioned.
Where do I setup that shortcut?

Thanks in advance. It seems promising!

Hi Chris,

Sorry for the late response. I didn't notice your reply until today (I had
forgotten to tick the box to be notified of replies).

Your solution worked perfectly (just no spaces in the links).
Great stuff really!

Many thanks.
