Whenever I reply or forward, WM does not show me as the "sender" it uses a
different email address. The address it chooses is one of my secondary
accounts. I can override this on an email by email basis but cannot find any
way to change the default.

Why isn't it showing as "from" which ever email address I'm currently in?

I'm sure many of my emails are not being read by the recipients because they
show as "from" an unknown sender.

To choose a default email account, click on Tools, then accounts, then the
email account you want to be the default, then Set as Default, then Close.

This sets the email address to be used as the return address when you start
a new message instead of a reply. However, when you start a reply, the
initial return address is the one for whichever account downloaded the
message you are replying to, even if that's not the one you want to use.
Things can get even more confusing if you have a master account and at
least one alias account for it, since the account that downloads the message
is not necessarily the one the message was addressed to.

Change your From address on the account that was used to download
those messages.
