I need Private IP's for Computers on my LAN

Guest

I am trying to play on line games at the same time my wife does but are
unable to play because the site that we go to will not allow both computers
at the same time because they both have the same IP address. I have looked
at the IP address on both computers on my LAN and they seem to have different
IP address but it seems that they broadcast the same IP address over the web.
Any ideas of where i should start looking to figure out this problem?

If they are connected to the via web via a router then it is the router's IP
address the site is seeing and you are seing two different addresses because
you are in a local LAN and the router is providing the signal to each.

Many online games have the ability for you to set a port number. You would
set your game's config to use, for example, port 10001, and set your wife's
to use 10002. This allows 2 PC's who share a public IP to game on the same
server. Check the FAQ for your game.
