The tightwad that is yours truly just blew £180 on an X-fi Gamer soundcard, some Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers and 1gb Crucial Ballistix.

I am pleased.

lmao, you'll be even happier once its all plugged in and running smoothly

Nice one! :)

The X-FI's sound fantastic, so much better than the on board audio, and you paired it with some good speakers. Add another gig of RAM and thats money well spent in my opinion. :thumb:

Cheers :thumb:

Won't be a patch on your setup though.

I thought about going the whole hog and buying the z-5500s, but thankfully I forced my hand away from the add to basket button... :D

This whole internet shopping lark is just all too easy sometimes...;)

You have a great system there mate, dont worry. :)

The Z 5500's are nice but not sure about the price tbh mate.

Internet shopping is great, but yeah way too easy sometimes!

Does anyone know if "performance" memory is any better that value stuff?
as in will it give me better framerates?

No, Value RAM is not as good for ocing really. :)

Just stay away from generic crap.

Depends how far you are going to be honest. The performance stuff is more stable, but unless you o/c then it is pretty irrelevent. I could have probably lived without mine, buit at £58 a pop it was ridiculously good value.
