I.E. 6 error message

My wife's laptop running Win XP, is generating a frequent
error message (similar) to the one generated by not being
able to find web-page.
"Daily reminder"
"..Cannot find DNS or server".
The only way we can remove the error message is a..
cont/alt/del to the task manager.
Is there a 'glitch' somewhere? Or do I need to go into
the 'tools/internet options/advance' to adjust?

Which process are you ending in the Task Manager, Will? Check her runkeys
and msconfig/startup. If all looks correct there, run the edit listed
below.

proxy server.....

If no virus/or worm has been found run a spyware cleaner and then try the
below.

Rename your hosts file: Go to: Windows\System32\DRIVERS\etc.
