The best way to identify the source is with Filemon (free) from
<http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/filemon.shtml>. Start Filemon (needs
no installation), filter on *.wav, and see what's listed just after your random
sound comes up. You'll get both the process, and the file.
