Hyperlinks with email merge do not work

I'm using office 2000 with outlook and word as my editor. My document has
hyperlinks but when I do an email merge, I noticed that with hotmail, my
hyperlinks did not work.
 
Did you start in Outlook Contacts or in Word? Try it from Contacts and
merge to email. That will start up Word and you can put in the link.

I'm having the same prom with outlook 2003. Followed KB reg fix with no
change -- help anyone?
