You can use this to disable some programs that are set up to start up when
windows does that might not need to automatically start up. Just don't
disable things like your touchpad or other needed items.
Last but not least: Symantec (Norton) Antivirus. I have an HP Pavilion also
that was pre-loaded with a bunch of stuff, including Symantec Antivirus.
This caused slow startup times on mine. So I uninstalled it and got AVG. Big
improvement.
Don't get me wrong though. Symantec Antivirus is a really decent program and
if you like it (and you DO need some type of virus protection) then you
should keep it.
