Slow Startup after SP3 Install

Hi I just installed SP3 on my computer that has XP Media as an operating
system and now my computer takes ten times as long to startup as it did with
SP2.

System is: HP Pavillion 64x2 dual core 4200+, 2GB RAM, GeForce 9500GT
(512MB) video, XP Media

I remember having this issue when I installed SP3 quite a long tome ago and
when I reformatted my hard drive at a later point I stopped at SP2 and all
was well as I knew it would be.

Today when I installed my new Adobe Design Premium CS4 it recommended
installing SP3 so I did. Now I have this slow start up again and I find it
most frustrating.

Does anyone know if a cure for the slow startup with SP3 was found and can
point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

It is alright now. I ran Auto Update again and found a couple more updates
that seems to have done the trick.

Click "Start", "Run"; type msconfig in the "Run" box. Click the "Diagnostic
Startup" button, click "Apply", "OK", exit and reboot the computer.

Reopen "msconfig" as before and click the "Startup" tab. One at a time,
check the boxes of the startup processes and reboot the computer. When you
find the application that causes the slow startup, Google that process to
find out what it is. Then decide if the slow start is really worth the
benefits that you get from that application. If not, leave it unchecked; or
uninstall the program.
