I would expect HP to have a solution. Have you contacted them?

Have you tried installing the printer driver in SAFE MODE? Sometimes
some anti-virus programs or anti-spyware progs blocks certain programs
to work properly.

Stupid HP...

I read about this potential solution that does not involve any
registry work or reformatting your computer (as HP recommends when
they have no clue):

When the error happens, press and hold CTRL SHIFT and click Cancel,
Setup will continue and the problem is remedied.

Please let us know how that works out.

Jose, you are a genius. The CTRL SHiFT and Cancel remedy solved the
problem!!! The printer is now completely installed and my headache is gone.
Thank you!
