hp photosmart incompatibility with xp

i just bought a new computer with xp and now it turns out
my old HP photosmart, which i love more than my new hp
7350 ps, is not compatible w/xp. hp says they don't
support it for xp. hp customer "care" says to try the
deskjet 870c, but that didn't help. anyone have a similar
problem, or a solution?

You'll need to share with us exactly which Photosmart you have ;-)

well, thanks anyway. i tried it and got no results. i
don't understand; it appears to be talking to the printer,
the light flashes and all....but then nothing happens. no
test page, nothng. drat. i love this printer! i guess i
could submit and pay their $25 to ask hp, but i'm afraid
i'll just hear what's already on their website, that they
don't support it in xp. GRRRRR!
