HP Photosmart 7350 "Your printer is not responding"

D

David

I have loaded "XP Professional" from Windows 98. I have
a "HP Photosmart 7350". I have a "USB 2.0 Universal
Serial Bus". When I'm loading the HP software to load my
drivers and setup my printer it wants to make sure my
printer is not plugged in and the USB cable is not
attached. It does its processing and then asks me to
connect the printer and turn it on. I do this and it
sits for about one or two minutes and then I receive the
following message:
"Your printer is not responding. Please make sure that
the printer is properly connected to your PC and turned
on."
Help! I've stayed up to many nights trying to connect.
Bought a new USB card and cable. Same message.

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. In the Hardware tab,
select Device Manager and scroll down to the Universal Serial Bus
Controllers line and click on the + to expand the tree.

Do they all appear to be installed correctly? Does the word "Enchanced"
appear... which would indicate USB 2.0.

Does the USB card work with other hardware?

Have you installed XP's SP1 (essential for USB 2.0)?
